Dengue: Early warning signs and what to do
Know the common early symptoms of dengue and when to seek medical care.
Dengue can start like a common fever. Watch for high fever, severe headache, pain behind the eyes, body aches, nausea, and rash.
Seek urgent medical care if you notice warning signs such as persistent vomiting, severe abdominal pain, bleeding (nose/gums), extreme tiredness, or difficulty breathing.
Do not take aspirin or ibuprofen for fever unless a doctor advises. Use paracetamol and drink plenty of fluids. Always follow local health guidance and get tested early.
